The Water of Life
Once upon a time. There was once a king who felt very ill, and no doctor from any kingdom could cure him. It was believed he wouldn't live to see another day.
— Where are my sons? I want them by my side.
The King's Sons
The King had two sons. The elder, William, desired power and the kingdom. The younger, Harry, was kind and innocent. He was caring towards everyone and loved his father very much.
— How is Father feeling? — We've done everything we could; only a miracle can save his life now.
William and Miranda's Plans
Meanwhile, William was in love with a girl named Miranda. He spent all his time with her and told her everything that happened in his life.
— You know, my dear, I want Father to like me more, but I feel he loves Harry more. I hope he won't get the throne instead of me. — Only you will be king, my love. — But how can you be so sure? — Because I know how to win your father's heart. Take this potion. It's from my grandmother. Make him drink this, and he will regain his health. — Oh, my dear, only you understand me. After I become king, I promise you will be my queen. — Oh, my darling, you love me so much!
But William didn't know that Miranda wasn't after his heart, but something else entirely.
— Ha ha ha! What an idiot!
Harry and the Disguised Angel
Meanwhile, Harry was heartbroken, for he couldn't bear to see his father suffering. He prayed with all his heart for his father to recover.
— Oh, angels, please show me how to heal him!
Then an angel, disguised as a wise man, appeared and saw Harry upset.
— What troubles you, young prince? — Who are you? — I am a wise man traveling through the kingdom, seeking knowledge. I saw you crying and decided to stop, perhaps I can help you somehow. — My father, the King, is very ill, and the doctors say no medicine in the world can cure him.
The Water of Life
— I know of a remedy found in a moonlit cave. To get there, you must pass through many kingdoms, and the path is full of obstacles. It is called the Water of Life. — How do I get there? To help Father, I can travel for miles and overcome any obstacle.
Consequently, the wise man told Harry how to reach the Water of Life.
Harry's Journey
After traveling for two days, he arrived in a dense forest, where he met a dwarf.
— Hey! I hear someone coming. Can you help me? — Where is that voice coming from? — Help me! If you can hear me, please help me! — How did you end up in this dungeon? — A witch used her powers to imprison me here. Please, can you cut my bonds and set me free?
Harry drew his sword and freed the dwarf. The dwarf thanked him and invited Harry to have dinner with him, but Harry said he was in a hurry and continued on his way.
The Grateful Lion
After a while, Harry stopped, for he heard a groan. He followed the sound and found an old, suffering lion.
— Oh dear, he looks so fragile and weak. He's probably hungry. Even if I'm delayed, I can't leave him here.
Harry gave the lion his entire portion of bread and continued on his journey in search of the Water of Life.
The Moonlit Cave
Harry was now hungry and tired, but he kept going. He passed through biting winds, through snowstorms, and finally reached the moonlit cave. Hungry and thirsty, Harry fainted at the cave's entrance.
The Angel Reveals Himself
— Harry, wake up, wake up, Harry! — You? How did you get here? — I am not a wise man; I am an angel who couldn't bear to see you suffering and appeared disguised as a wise man. I am glad you are a kind soul who helps those in need. This is the Water of Life. Drink a little of it to regain your strength, and take the rest to your father.
Harry drank the Water of Life and regained his strength. He thanked the angel and took the rest to his ailing father.
William Becomes King and Harry Imprisoned
In the kingdom, Miranda's potion had cured the king. The King was pleased with William and decided to make him king.
— But where is Harry? I haven't seen him for a week. How irresponsible can a son be to leave when his father is ill?
William took advantage of the situation and suggested to the king that Harry should be arrested for his irresponsibility.
— Father doesn't care, he doesn't care about you, he doesn't care about me or the kingdom. I suggest we lock him up for a while to teach him a lesson.
Harry Arrested
Meanwhile, Harry rejoiced that he had returned with the Water of Life, but unbeknownst to him, William had other plans.
— Arrest him and lock him in prison immediately! — But brother, what...? — You deserve no explanation. — Ah! Come on!
The Coronation and the King's Collapse
The new king will be announced today. All are invited to the palace!
— Hooray! Hooray! We have a new king! It's probably Prince Harry, he's a kind soul.
Harry was locked in his cell, where he sat sadly, grieved that his own brother had imprisoned him.
— But why didn't he let me speak?
Suddenly, he heard a loud sound.
— You? How did you get in here? — I've come to free you! — But, but how did you know? — We don't have time for that now! Let's go! Quickly! — But the palace is well guarded! — Don't worry! Someone is dealing with the soldiers now! Come on! — Help! A lion! Help! A lion! Help! A lion! — Come, this way!
The Truth Comes Out
As Prince William was about to be crowned, the King began to feel unwell and fell to the ground.
— What happened to the King? Oh no! I thought he had recovered! — But what did you give him? Father is sick again! You wretched woman, you tricked me! — How dare you? You wanted your father to be alive just so you could become king, and now you blame me? — Don't raise your voice at me, I will arrest you! — You? Arrest me? Ha ha ha! — It's the witch Sabrina! — I heard she's very powerful! — That's right, save yourselves! — You have no idea what powers I possess! I will... — Sabrina, the time for revenge has come! — Oh!
Reconciliation and the New Kingdom
— Father, drink this, please.
The King drank the water and felt better. He immediately stood up.
— Thank you, my son! I feel much better. What medicine did you give me?
Harry explained everything to his father and told him why he had been absent while he was ill. Hearing these things, the King felt ashamed.
— Forgive me, my son, for I did not understand you. — It's nothing, Father. Are you feeling well? That's what's most important to me.
William also spoke.
— My brother, forgive me too. I was enchanted by that witch and didn't know what I was doing. — Oh, don't be silly! Let's embrace like in the good old days.
The brothers embraced, and the King smiled. Soon, both William and Harry were made kings. They would rule the kingdom together and ensure that witches like Miranda had no place there.
— Long live our kings! Long live our kings!
The moral of the story: Kindness and selflessness are always rewarded, and truth and justice ultimately triumph.
