The King and the Golden Apple
Once upon a time, there was a king who owned the most special apple in the world. The tree bore golden apples. Every day, the gardener would count the apples and hand them to the king.
"An apple is missing!"
The king grew furious when the gardener informed him about the missing apples.
The Gardener's First Two Sons Fail
"The thief will not be spared!"
That evening, the gardener put his eldest son in charge of protecting the apple, but at midnight, his eldest son fell asleep. The next morning, an apple was missing again.
"I will entrust the protection of the apple to my second son."
Night came, and the gardener's second son also fell asleep at midnight. The next morning, an apple disappeared again.
The Youngest Son and the Golden Bird
The gardener's third and youngest son offered to guard the tree that evening.
