Pinocchio

Geppetto and His Wish

Once upon a time, in a small town, there lived an old carpenter named Geppetto. He made wooden toys which he then sold. All the children loved his attractive and colorful toys. Geppetto had always wished for a child.

— Today, I will make a beautiful toy boy, and I will treat him as if he were my own child.

Geppetto searched for a good log in the forest and soon found a small pine one.

— Aha! This is exactly the perfect log I was looking for!

Geppetto placed the piece of wood on his shoulder like a child and carried it home. He placed it on the table and began to carve it. In his skilled hands, the log began to take the shape of a figure.

First, the puppet's head took shape, then followed the hands and feet. Finally, Geppetto finished the beautiful toy boy.

— Oh, what a beautiful boy I've made! You remind me of my childhood, my son! I will never sell you to anyone. Your name will be Pinocchio, my son!

The Good Fairy

Night fell. Geppetto went to bed with Pinocchio beside him. Geppetto fell into a deep sleep, tired after working hard all day. Suddenly, a fairy appeared.

— Geppetto, you have brought happiness to many children with your creative toys. I reward you with a special gift for your noble work.

The fairy pointed her magic wand at Pinocchio, and lo and behold, the puppet began to move on its own. He immediately rose from the bed and bowed before the fairy as a sign of respect.

— Thank you, fairy! You have given me life. Now I can walk and dance! — That's right, my friend. Now you are alive. You must be a good child. Do not upset your father and always listen to him. If you prove to be a good child, I will give you a special gift. — Oh, really? I will always listen to my father. — Shhh! Your father is sleeping. Don't disturb him. Give him a surprise tomorrow morning.

Pinocchio Goes to School

The next morning, when he woke up, Geppetto saw Pinocchio standing beside him and blinking his eyes.

— Oh, my puppet is alive! My Pinocchio is alive! — Yes, father, I am alive!

Geppetto hugged Pinocchio.

— I can't believe it! I've never been so happy!

Geppetto and Pinocchio began to spend wonderful moments together. It was time for Pinocchio to go to school.

— Father, I am big enough now to go to school like all the other children. Please buy me books and pencils. — Of course, I will buy them for you soon.

Geppetto didn't have enough money to buy school supplies. So, he sold his only coat and gave the money to Pinocchio.

— But father, where is your coat? — Oh, I didn't wear it today. It's too old and torn. I don't want to wear it anymore. Now go, my dear son, learn well and make me proud. — Thank you, father! Bye bye! See you later!

At the Circus

Pinocchio set off for school joyfully, admiring all the shops, people, and markets along his way. Suddenly, he saw a crowd gathered in front of him. He slowly made his way to the front to see what was happening.

In front of him was a large, colorful tent. It was a circus tent. A clown stood at the entrance. Pinocchio was just about to enter through the gate when the clown stopped him.

— You can't enter without a ticket!

Pinocchio thought for a moment and took out the money he had received from his father.

— Take this money and give me a ticket.

The clown gave him the ticket, and Pinocchio enthusiastically entered the tent. A magician was performing a magic show, and a bear was riding a unicycle. Pinocchio was amazed.

— Wow! What an amazing place!

The circus master saw him from the side.

— Oh, is that a living puppet? I'll snatch him and make him perform in my circus. Now I won't need to pay puppeteers for the puppet show.

After the show ended, he didn't let Pinocchio leave.

— Don't leave, stay at the circus. From now on, you will be a part of it, my living puppet. — Let me
