The Magic Cat

Once upon a time, in a happy kingdom, lived a queen, a king, and their little Princess Lea. She was the most playful and wonderful baby in the world.

One day, the queen was out in the garden with Lea and her maids. Suddenly, from the bushes, appeared a large, plump, orange cat.

— Bububu!

The cat's fur was full of leaves and mud, and it seemed to be in pain.

— Meow! Meow!

— Hmm? What? Ah! A cat! Meow!

— Ouch! Shoo! This cat is very dirty! Go away! Shoo! Go!

The poor cat became sad and started to leave. But seeing it go, little Lea began to cry.

— Ah! Ah! Ah!

— Oh dear! It seems Lea really likes the cat. Let's keep it. It can be her pet.

So the cat was taken to the palace. The maids washed and cleaned it thoroughly. They treated its paws and finally tied a big, beautiful bow around its neck.

— Oh my! It's absolutely adorable! Lea will love it! Lea! Do you see the beautiful kitty?

— Bububu! Ah! Ah! Ah! Meow!

Lea loved the cat so much that she didn't want to sleep without it. She would cry incessantly until the cat came to her. They were inseparable and you would always find them together.

— My dear! Isn't it extraordinary what a strong bond they have?

— Yes, indeed. I hope this bond continues. This cat is the only one who makes Lea happy.

— Yes! Ha ha ha!

That night, when everyone was asleep, the cat woke up and shook off its bandages.

— Meow! Oh! It's healed! My wounds have finally healed! I should leave here. My dear princess is sleeping now. Thank you for your kindness. I will never forget!

The next day, the search began. Servants, maids, cooks, everyone in the palace looked for the cat everywhere.

— Come on, Kitty! Where are you? Where did this ugly cat disappear to?

— Did you find it, dear?

— Yes, I found it. See?

— That's a plush cat!

— And isn't it the same thing? Oh!

And so, those in the palace forgot about the cat. Years passed and Princess Lea grew up, becoming a cheerful and extremely beautiful young lady. She loved taking long walks in the forest, seeing the beautiful flowers, and singing with the little birds.

— What a beautiful day! Don't you think so?

— Yes, princess! It is beautiful!

— Oh, yes! Wonderful! Ah!

— Sleep, sleep, sleep softly. Close your eyes, sleep softly.

And at that moment, the two tired servants fell into a deep sleep. Lea was very happy, because now she could go wherever she wanted.

— Ah! Freedom! Let's see what I find if I go a little further.

And as she walked through the forest, she began to sing. Her voice was delicate and sweet and attracted all the little birds. But it also attracted a big, bad ogre who lived in that forest.

— Uhu! What a beautiful sound! And a beautiful young lady! I think I want her all to myself!

— La la la la la! Ah! Oh! Let me go!

— Ho ho ho! I will take you home and you will be my wife!

— No! No! Help, please!

But no one heard her screaming, for she had gone too far, and her servants were asleep. The ogre took her to his dark cave. He put her down, and she began to cry.

— Now you are mine! Stop that terrible crying! I don't want to hear such horrible sounds here! I want you to sing to me every day! Come on! Sing!

And poor Lea began to sing through her tears, but she couldn't sing very well.

— La la la la la la!

That evening, the ogre became thirsty and forced Lea to go fetch him water from the river.

— Come on, take this bucket with you and don't even think about running away! If you run, I will hunt you down and find you!

Poor Lea sadly went towards the river. When she arrived there, she saw a cat sleeping on a stone. It was the same cat she had played with when she was little, but she no longer remembered it.

— Oh! How cute! Come on, Kitty Kitty! Come to me!

Lea reached out to touch it, but the cat jumped into the bushes.

— Oh dear! I guess it's not my lucky day. Hmm? What? Meow! Oh! You came! Come on, come here! What a good kitty! Oh, how beautiful you are! Do you want to be my friend? I don't have any friends here. And a bad ogre kidnapped me, he wants me to be his bride. Meow! I can't even run away, because he'll come after me. Ah! I wish you could save me. Will you, kitty?

And as she said that, the kitty transformed into a handsome young man with reddish hair. But there was something even stranger about him. He had cat ears and a tail that moved behind him.

— Oh! Ah! What are you? Who?

— Please, don't be afraid! I am Prince Radley from the neighboring kingdom. When I was little, I was a very naughty child and I was cursed to be a cat and stay in this forest.

— But there
