The Fairies and the Magic Pitcher
Once upon a time, two fairies came to Earth with a magic pitcher. They had to give the magic pitcher as a gift to the best people they met, but it was harder than they thought to find such a person with a pure heart and a kind soul.
— Oh, when will we find the right person for the magic pitcher? — My dear, we might have arrived at the right place. Look down there!
Pixi, the Girl with a Kind Heart
The fairies saw Pixi, a cute and charming little girl with a good and loving heart. Pixi loved to share and was compassionate. Everyone loved her.
— Do you think we can give the magic pitcher to this girl? Shouldn't we follow her a bit longer to be sure? — All right then, let's follow her and see what she does, and then we'll make a decision.
Pixi returned home with her heavy pot, unaware that from the clouds, the fairies were watching and following her. As she walked, Pixi saw an old woman on the road. When she saw that the woman was thirsty, she poured her some water and quenched her thirst.
— May the Lord bless you, good child!
Pixi helped the old woman, then continued her journey home. The fairies were impressed, but not entirely convinced yet.
— Surely now Pixi won't be able to help anyone else, for she won't have any water left for herself. — I agree. It will be very interesting. Let me try something.
As she walked, Pixi saw something that broke her heart. Pixi couldn't pass by the tired and thirsty puppy indifferently, so she hurried to help it.
The Magic Pitcher
— Are you convinced now, dear? Do you want to see or know anything else? — Nothing to see, but yes, something very important to do. Come on, dear!
The fairies, convinced to offer Pixi the magic pitcher as a gift, appeared before her. At first, Pixi was scared, but the fairies showed her who they were and made her understand that this pitcher would give and keep giving as much as she needed. Having said this, they offered her the magic pitcher.
— Magic pitcher? — Yes. This pitcher is magic, and you are worthy to own it! Just look into the empty water pot.
Pixi looked into the pot and, voila, the pot filled itself with water.
— Yes, Pixi, indeed this pitcher will help you to be good, it will do whatever good is needed. It will bring happiness to you and to others. It will always be your friend and advisor.
Pixi became absorbed in the wonder of the pitcher and forgot about the fairies. When she looked up again, the fairies had disappeared. She looked around when she heard a sweet voice. Pixi then realized that the pitcher was talking to her.
— Hello, Pixi! The fairy mothers have left. I think we should go home now. — Huh? Yes, yes! Let me show you your new home. — Yes! I can't wait to go!
Pixi and the Prince
Pixi arrived at her house with the magic pitcher and showed it to her poor parents. But they also needed proof of the pitcher's magical powers. Understanding this, the pitcher got to work, and they were amazed when they saw the pitcher's magic before their eyes.
From that day on, the pitcher became a member of Pixi's family. Then, from the next day, the pitcher's magic completely changed the lives of Pixi and her parents, and Pixi with the pitcher changed the destiny of the entire village.
The magic pitcher made stews, soups, and juices which, along with other vegetables and fruits, Pixi gave to the poor and needy. Anything left over was then sold by her and the villagers at the market to earn some money.
Time flew by, and the lives of Pixi and the villagers improved. In time, Pixi grew into a beautiful young lady, with an even kinder and more loving heart, and she still loved to help and support the needy. Pixi's village became a model village for everyone.
Needy people from all over the world began to come to their village to solve their problems, and many came just to fill their stomachs. The magic stew and soup became known for their healing powers.
— Pixi, the soup and stew are finished! What? There are still many hungry people in line. What shall we do? — Oh, is that so? Don't you check one more time? I smell fresh soup.
This was on the same day that destiny had a surprise in store for Pixi. When he heard of the prosperity and wonder of Pixi's village, a young prince from a neighboring kingdom, named Noah, came to see if what he had heard was true.
— I'm sorry, I can't let you go among the common people. It's too risky. — It's fine now. Wait here until I return.
The prince, who now looked like everyone else, went to see what was happening up close. Then, the prince saw Pixi and understood that she was behind this prosperity. He was immediately amazed by her beauty and kindness.
When Pixi entered the house, the prince went and knocked on her door. Pixi opened the door, and then the pitcher jumped for joy, for it immediately understood what was happening. Pixi liked that the young man spoke with kindness. Just then, the young man said something that shocked Pixi.
— What? You want to be fed by someone who has fasted and has an empty stomach? But why? — For two reasons. Firstly, my mother swore to the fairies that her son would only eat from someone who fasted in the 25th year of his life. And, secondly, it's easy to sacrifice and feed someone when your stomach is full. But true good deed is when you are kind to someone even when you are suffering. — It's nothing if you can't. I'll try my luck elsewhere, although today is my third day without eating. — Wait! I will fast today and tomorrow so that you can fulfill your mother's wish and regain your strength.
Thus, for the next two days, the prince stayed near Pixi's house, in a shed, and Pixi, while fasting, fed him hearty meals. After the two days, the prince was preparing to leave. But Pixi and her family were sad, for they had grown to like him. The prince asked for nothing. Instead, he asked Pixi one last question.
— What is the action that lasts the longest in the world? — In this world, the only action that lasts forever is that of kindness.
At that moment, the prince revealed his true identity. The family was pleasantly surprised. Then, the prince asked for Pixi's hand in marriage. The family agreed, and the pitcher magically blessed and celebrated the occasion.
Pixi, the magic pitcher, and Prince Noah lived in the prince's palace.
— And today? I promise you that the magic pitcher will live in both places, dividing its time for the good of all.
As before, Pixi, along with the magic pitcher, began to work to change and transform the prince's kingdom as well. While Pixi began to be loved by all for her graceful and kind nature, some ministers in the palace, who had been in charge before, began to be envious and plot against her to regain their power and live well.
— Because of this girl, Pixi, we are no longer important and have no power. If she stays here, we are finished. Correct! That's why I've already made a plan to see her gone from the palace and our lives. Hehehe!
The ministers put their plan into action, met with the prince separately, and poisoned his mind regarding the innocent Pixi.
— No. She cannot do such a thing. Pixi to perform witchcraft to control me and take my kingdom? It cannot be. I don't believe a word. — My dear prince. We are sure that if you see, you will believe, won't you? Come, come with us to show you. — Of course. I am convinced that the prince will believe if he sees. If he doesn't trust his loyal ministers.
On the day the pitcher returned to Pixi's village, and Pixi went to help the poor, the ministers took the prince to Pixi's room and showed him something hidden in a secret place. And thus, the prince, being pushed by his cunning ministers, planned to chase his love, Queen Pixi, from the kingdom.
The fact that Pixi and the prince separated saddened many people and made them cry. But some people were happy and felt victorious. Pixi was devastated and no longer cared about anything, neither the village, nor her parents, and especially not her good friend, the magic pitcher.
Then, the pitcher decided to do something big on its own for the first time. That night, when everyone was asleep, it flew to the prince's kingdom and went to where the two culprits were celebrating their victory.
— I think I saw something on the wall. — Get a grip, friend. You're too happy and dreaming. There's nothing on the wall. — No! If you're hungry, eat him and leave me alone. I'm innocent! — Leave us alone! We haven't done anything to you!
The magic pitcher, which scared them by transforming into a monster, told them to go and confess to the prince that they had plotted against the innocent Pixi and told them that if they didn't, it would come again the next night. The wicked ministers had no choice but to comply with what the pitcher demanded.
The evil ministers confessed their wicked deed to the prince, who became very angry with them, but because they surrendered to the prince, he did not imprison them, but only chased them from his kingdom. Then, the prince ran to Pixi and asked her to return to his palace and live with him. Pixi understood that it was not the prince's fault and agreed.
Thus, the magic pitcher continued its magic, always serving the good and graceful Pixi.
Moral: True good deed is when you are kind to someone even when you are suffering.
