The Beginnings of a Celestial Love
Once upon a time, the giant of the Moon, named Lunaro, was walking through the barren lands of the Moon. When, suddenly, he saw the beautiful giantess of the Earth, named Blula. Lunaro fell in love with her on the spot and decided to ask for her hand in marriage.
He jumped from the Moon and landed on Earth. He knelt before her, holding a tree in his hand like a flower, and declared his love. Blula was very impressed. She smiled. Lunaro had won her over.
The Wonderful Palace and the Birth of the Princess
Lunaro built her a wonderful palace next to the Great River. It was the most beautiful palace on Earth. Blula was very happy. Then, Blula and Lunaro's little girl was born.
The giant hermit, who had come to bless her, said:
— She will be Princess Spring and will rule over all rivers and lakes. I give her the name Princess Spring.
Blula and Lunaro were very happy.
Filial Love and the Suitor Solaris
When Princess Spring grew up, many suitors came to sing under her palace windows. But she preferred none of them. She was so happy living in her wonderful palace with her beloved mother that she didn't care for any suitor.
No daughter loved her mother as much as Princess Spring loved Blula. One day, Solaris, the giant of the Sun, came to court her. When Princess Spring saw him, she was amazed, for Solaris was the most handsome man she had ever seen.
— Wow! He's so handsome! — Hello, beautiful Princess Spring. My name is Solaris and I have come to ask for your hand in marriage. I am in love with you.
Princess Spring immediately grew sad.
— Oh, mighty Solaris, you are so handsome and wonderful, and I am in love with you, but I cannot leave my mother because I love her more than anyone else. I'm sorry.
Refused, Solaris left.
A New Proposal and the Wedding
The next day, when the Sun rose, Solaris returned to the palace again and called out to Princess Spring.
— Oh, my beautiful princess, please, come, speak with me!
Hearing his voice, Princess Spring came out immediately.
— Oh, Solaris! How glad I am to see you! — And I am glad to see you too, princess. And I have come to tell you that it is impossible for me to forget you. I simply cannot stay away from you, but I understand your love for your mother. Therefore, I have come with another proposal. — And what would that be? — Marry me. Come with me to my kingdom. Stay with me for nine months each year, and for three months you can come to your mother and stay here with her.
Princess Spring smiled, for she liked Solaris's proposal. She agreed, and the wedding took place at once. After the wedding, she bid farewell to her parents and left with Solaris.
Lunaro's Departure and Blula's Loneliness
A few days after the wedding, Lunaro went to Blula.
— My dear, it's time for me to return to my kingdom to take care of my people. — And what about me? Will I stay here all alone? — My dear, I have always asked you to come with me, but you don't want to. You don't want to leave the palace. That's why I built it. Do you remember? — Yes, I don't want to leave Earth. You go. I will wait for you here as I do every year.
They embraced and Lunaro left. After that, Blula felt increasingly lonely. Months passed, and one day, to break the monotony, Blula decided to walk through the dense forest beyond the Great River, not knowing that Cristal, the giantess of Ice, was waiting for her.
Blula's Captivity and Lunaro's Intervention
When she reached the dense forest, Cristal appeared before her.
— Welcome, Blula! It took you some time to leave your territory. — Who are you? — I am Cristal, the giantess of Ice! And I am here to enslave you. Freeze!
On the spot, Blula was covered in ice.
— The Earth is mine now! Ha ha ha!
And soon the entire Earth was covered in ice. Rivers froze, flowers disappeared, and animals shivered. Lunaro was informed about this by his wise servant. Lunaro immediately asked his servant to arrange a meeting with Solaris.
— Sire, you should meet with Solaris in secret, so that Cristal does not know about your meeting. If she finds out, she will take drastic measures against you. — You are right. What do you suggest then?
The wise servant suggested something that impressed Lunaro.
— Brilliant! That's exactly what I'll do!
The Eclipse and Solaris's Fury
That day, Lunaro moved the Moon and placed it exactly between the Sun and the Earth. He caused an eclipse, and the Earth plunged into darkness. Lunaro met with Solaris and Princess Spring halfway and explained everything to them. The Princess was terrified.
— Mother! No!
Seeing his wife scared, Solaris became furious.
— I will melt Cristal with my fury! Lunaro, step aside!
Lunaro nodded and stepped aside. Solaris unleashed his fury on Cristal, and soon all the ice began to melt.
— What's happening? Why is all the ice melting? Ahh!
The Sun's rays were too powerful for her. She understood at once that it was Solaris.
— Alright, alright! Stop! — I will not stop until you free Blula! — I will free her! But I have a condition. — I don't think you understand. Either you free her, or I will melt you completely. There are no conditions. — Fine! Go ahead! Melt me! But don't forget, melting will cause great floods across the entire Earth, and you will be dealing with that for eons.
Negotiations and the Birth of Monsoon
Solaris was stunned.
— She's right! We can't melt her! Ask what her condition is!
Solaris was filled with fury.
— Very well! What is your condition? — I will leave now, but every year, when the princess returns to you, I want my reign on Earth for those nine months. — That's absurd! Nine months of cold and ice will harm the Earth! What will be left for me to give it when I return?
Cristal thought for a moment and then said:
— Alright, fine! Seven months then. — Where do you think our newborn Monsoon will live his adventures? We have decided to send him to his grandmother's palace for three months each year, so he can learn everything about Earth and pour his rains upon it. — Oh, be serious! You get three months each year. Do you accept or not? — Alright, fine! We'll all see each other next year!
Saying that, she vanished in a light gust of cold wind and left.
The Return of Spring and the Cycle of Seasons
Princess Spring immediately arrived on Earth, and as soon as she stepped on the grass, all the ice disappeared. Rivers began to flow again, trees bore fruit, and animals were happy. The Earth looked wonderful. The ice covering Blula disappeared, and she was free again.
— Mother! — My dear daughter, have you come for me?
The two embraced, and Princess Spring explained everything that had happened to her mother.
— My daughter, your husband and my son-in-law acted correctly when I was captive. I am so lucky, and don't worry. As for Cristal, I will receive her for three months. But tell me, what is the good news you were going to give me? — Mother, I have given birth to a son! He will be the giant of the rains. I have named him Monsoon, and he will come to visit you every year for three months. — Oh, how wonderful! I am so happy, my child!
And so it happened. Every year, Princess Spring came for three months to visit Blula, and the Earth bloomed. Then, Solaris came to take her back to his kingdom, bringing summer to Earth with him. Then Monsoon came to visit his grandmother and stayed with her for three months. It rained all over the Earth during that time.
And after he left, Cristal came, bringing winter with her for the last three months of the year. As for Blula, she welcomed all the seasons with love, and together, the Earth prospered.
The moral of the story is that balance and compromise can bring harmony and prosperity, even in the face of opposing forces, and familial love can inspire the greatest sacrifices and solutions.
