The Princess and the Dragon
This is the story of a princess, but don't be fooled. She isn't waiting for a charming prince to rescue her. She's different. She has a warrior spirit.
The King and Queen's Wish
A long time ago, the queen and king wished for a child. So they visited the enchanted forest, searching for the wish-granting unicorn.
— Oh, mighty unicorn! We have come to ask for your blessing. Please bless us with a child.
— May you be blessed with a baby girl who will light up your world with happiness.
The unicorn granted their wish, and soon, the kingdom welcomed its princess. The queen and king were overjoyed.
— Oh, my child! You shall be named Violeta.
Princess Violeta!
The Warrior Princess
The princess acquired all the warrior skills, just like a prince: horse riding, sword fighting, how to defend herself, and more. She practiced regularly and followed a healthy diet.
The Threat of War
The king's family lived in peace and harmony. Until one day, when a secret messenger of the king brought news that the neighboring kingdom had broken the peace treaty and was about to attack their kingdom.
The entire kingdom was worried, as they didn't have enough of an army to fight. The king wasn't feeling too well. Princess Violeta overheard the queen talking to the king.
— We must ask King Tom for help! His army can help us, and we can win the war!
— I see no hope. The enemy's army is strong. Not even King Tom's army can help us.
— We must at least try!
— You are right, my queen. I will leave tomorrow morning.
— But father! You are not well. I will go and bring the army.
— I trust my daughter. Let her go.
— Very well, princess.
— In my absence, the army must be ready for any attack. Commander, I leave the responsibility of the king and queen to you.
— Of course, princess.
The Princess's Journey
The princess carried her sword and shield, mounted her horse, and set off on her journey. Along the way, she stopped in a village. A villager told the princess a very strange thing.
— You cannot go to the other side of the mountain. A dragon lives on the mountain in a cave. It will gobble you up when you try to pass the cave, and no brave man or soldier has ever returned from there.
— I fear nothing in this world. I will cross the mountain, no matter what it takes.
The dragon had lived there for thousands of years, but no one had ever seen it. Its hot breath had scorched the ground near the cave, and nothing grew there anymore. The brave princess decided to deal with the dragon without weapons.
Meeting Fiona the Dragon
— Honorable dragon, I have brought you some flowers. Will you let me stay in your cave tonight and continue my journey tomorrow? For I must save my kingdom. Otherwise, it will fall into the hands of cruel ones.
The dragon lowered its head and sniffed the bouquet. It was so touched by the gift that it smiled at the princess.
— I am Fiona! You are very fierce, just like me! You are the first person who has been kind enough to offer me a gift. You are my guest!
That night, she told the dragon her story. The next morning, the princess left the cave and promised to return in two days, on her way back.
King Tom's Betrayal
— Honorable King Tom, our kingdom is in danger. We need your army. Can you help us?
— Silly girl! My army will also attack your kingdom. Now you will see your kingdom burn.
The king captures her and holds her in a tower.
— I should not have trusted you! Let me go! The day I escape, you will regret this!
The king had no idea what he was about to witness.
Saving the Kingdom
— Fiona! Here!
— Yes! Girl power!
Fiona roared at the king in anger and breathed fire into the air. The king and his army knelt before her. The princess imprisoned her uncle and ordered the army to go to the castle.
— Let's go, Fiona!
— Dear princess, I have never met a princess as brave as you. We will fight alongside you.
Princess Violeta returned to her castle with the army and fought in the war. Thus, she saved her kingdom, the king, the queen, and the army commander.
A Royal Wedding
The king told the princess that all their men had fled, but only the army commander had stayed behind to fight and was captured.
— Well, Peter, have you thought about what you wish for as a reward?
— Not I, but the princess is the one who saved this entire kingdom and us. I am amazed by her and admire her courage and bravery. I would love to marry the princess, if she agrees.
— What do you say, my daughter?
— Please, father! I would love to, because he kept his word without fearing for his life.
— You shall receive, princess, half of the kingdom, because you were so brave!
Peter and Violeta got married and lived happily ever after. They reigned together over the kingdom.
Fiona's Destiny
And wait, what about the dragon? Well, Fiona returned to her cave, which was her natural habitat, and never harmed anyone, ever. She grew flowers around the cave and lived happily with her baby dragons.
The moral of the story is that true strength and courage do not depend on gender or societal expectations, but on strength of character and the will to do what is right, even in the face of danger.
